Day 36: March 29, 2019

Today’s Progress: Introduction to JavaScript Pt. 1 (FCC)

Thoughts: With my FCC Responsive Web Design Certification Curriculum done, I’m back for JavaScript.

I don’t remember if I ever mentioned it here or on twitter, but my first coding experience way back in 2013 was actually JavaScript. It was a college course and I ended up struggling through the whole thing.

I’m having war flashbacks now.

I’d really forgotten just how much math was in JS.

Key Takeaways From Day Thirty-Six:

  • JavaScript has 7 different data types: undefined, null, boolean, string, symbol, number and object.
  • To declare a string you first set a variable and then add the string –> EX: var myname = “mimi”;
  • All JavaScript variables are case sensitive. It’s suggested you use camelCase, which has the first word of a multiword variable lowercase and the rest capital.
