Progress #2

So much has happened since my last post. A sort of overhaul occurred.

To a Tea will no longer be centered around starting a Tea Shop. The deeper I got into researching the more I came to realize It’s just way too much for me. I would need to add much more to the game than I’d have time for. There is so much that goes into starting a shop/cafe. I don’t really think I could accurately portray it. And I’d rather not do something than do it wrong.

After I finally made up my mind about this I took a day to think on things. I still wanted things to be about starting a business. I still wanted things to be about tea. In the end I came up with a concept that combined both. To a Tea became a game about starting a tea party catering business.

It’s still starting a business, but at a smaller scale. Something I failed to think about when I initially came up with the idea. Yeah follow your dreams, but take baby steps don’t leap from a cliff and expect to fly.

Another thing I failed to realize was starting a business takes a team. It’s not something that you can really do on your own. This a real problem that’s hits home with me. I have a huge issue with asking for help. It makes me feel like I’m weak or dumb when I know deep down that’s not true. It’s actually the reverse. Knowing when you need help and standing up and asking for it takes strength. It’s a strong action.

There’s this dorky saying that states “Teamwork makes the Dream work”.  Nothing could be more true.

So true.

So in To a Tea, Sara Sloth will be joined by four of her long time friends. Buster, Beth, Delancy and Gia. Together they will work towards starting the catering business. The work will be split among them. So not only will you get to see what sloth is thinking/working on, but the others as well.

Since getting my main idea straight, I’ve been making tremendous progress. Outline is finished. Routes are planned and art is being made. I’ve created sprites for each character with different emotions that correspond with different questions/answers.

I currently working on finishing up my background and special moment images.

Sneak Peak!
